Grrrr

Well, our car may be toast. We were rear ended the other day and the back of car is pretty schmoosed in. No one was hurt and thats the main thing, but DID WE REALLY NEED THIS TO HAPPEN?? nooooooo. I wouldn't be surprised if they total the car. Well, the good part is that we hadn't gotten new tires yet and there was some other work that we hadn't done that we had planned on doing. But the thought of having another car payment.... suuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!

But at least its stopped raining.

For now.

but it did snow.

I'm so not ready for winter.

Not quite 40 days....

but there sure is a lot of rain falling! I'm tired of it! We've got the remnants of Wilma heading our way. Its been raining all night long and it'll rain all day today. Enough is enough! But at least we don't get the horrible destruction Florida got with this one. OKay, I've had enough. But we've got flood watches and tomorrow it may snow.

Hollywood comes to town

Lights.... camera..... action.

Peterborough is going to be in a movie. They start filming today apparently just down the street from me. They had cameras out on Friday, but no actors. Maybe today. The movie, Sensation of Sight will have Ian Somerhalder (Boone from Lost), David Strathairn (I just remember him from Dolores Claiborne) and Elizabeth Waterson (Law and Order). And of course, the good people of Peterborough. I can't wait to see it on the big screen, but it'll be exciting to have them in town. This'll be the 3rd movie that I've seen film. First was Man Without a Face with Mel Gibson. They used the Scotia Prince in Portland where I worked, for a scene. Then there was Jumanji with Robin Williams in Keene, NH, and now this one.

Okay, this is the last week before Nano starts and I don't even know what I'm going to write. I think I have it narrowed down to 3 choices. Just have to plot them out and see what I come up with.

The Wonder of it All

I have really stopped noticing the beauty of the world around me. I catch glimpses here and there, but I've been dealing with so many other things that I haven't been appreciating nature. I sat outside waiting for my daughter's bus this morning and watched the moon. It's waning, but was full 2 days ago. She was so beautiful and bright against the sky and I could see her move slowly into the trees. I used to spend so much time moongazing but now I hardly pay her any attention. Very sad and my loss.

I still haven't heard back about Finally Home. I guess no news is good news. I will wait ever so patiently, work away at the now 2 wips I have going and ponder what new story I want to tell for the Nano write next month.

But for now its time to get back to the mundane and get the kids ready for school and me ready for work. I'll continue dreaming tonite after everything is done.

Rain rain go away....

Well, its a little damp here in western New Hampshire. Roads are being washed away... rivers are going crazy. One town's police department was swept away. The remnants of TS Tammy joined up with some bad weather from the west and hit our part of the state on Saturday. What a mess! My in laws are stranded. The only road going out of their part of the town is closed. And there's a dam threatening to bust loose up by them too.

We're high and dry in our apartment, but the river in our backyard is nearly up over its banks. And it sounds like its still raining out there. Weather reports say that it will keep on raining all week. Joy. There goes our beautiful foliage.

Oh, don't know if I mentioned it..... Scheherazade took a pass on Sweet Forever. Said that it had a lot of potential, but not polished enough for publication. It really bummed me out, but I'm past it. I'm putting it aside for now but I'll take a look at it again soon. Have another project I'm working on.

Okay, time to get back to real life.....

October is finally here

I absolutely love this time of the year. I wish it wasn't so short lived because I know whats coming next and I'm not going to like it one little bit. So I'm going to bask in the glory that is a New England autumn.

Got a bit of good news. I submitted queries for both Finally Home and Sweet Forever to Whiskey Creek Press (an e publisher) and received a request for the full for Finally Home. So I sent that out asap. My fingers are crossed. Not exactly what I was planning when I wanted to be published, but e-publishing is growing in popularity and respectability. Its a start. :) I don't know if they'd want SF though, since its shorter than what they usually want. May have to send that one to another e-publisher.

My fingers are crossed. I'm going to be estatic if they actually buy it!!!!!
